Colombia, one of the most attractive destinations for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)

In recent years, Colombia has emerged as one of the most attractive destinations for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) focused on the U.S. market. Today, Colombia’s BPO industry ranks as the third largest in Latin America (after Brazil and Mexico)[1]. The sector contributes about 3% of national GDP and generates more than 750,000 high-quality direct jobs[2]. These figures highlight both sustained growth and Colombia’s potential as a nearshore hub for international companies.

This technical paper outlines the key advantages of outsourcing BPO/KPO services to Colombia for U.S. small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and startups, based exclusively on official and multilateral sources (2024–2025).
